There are mainly two seasons in the Caribbean : Wet and dry.
From October to May, the weather is usually dry
and very nice with some occasional squalls. The real trade winds begin around
Christmas (Christmas winds) and slow down by the end of March with gentle
breezes for the remainder of the year. From June to September it rains the equivalent of 3-4 days a month
with very nice weather the rest of the time. The
temperature is barely 2-3°C more than in winter, but the sea is far warmer (up
to 29°C, 82°F on the beach!).
About Hurricanes Palm Island is located at the southern-most end
of the hurricane belt and therefore escapes the severe storms. The closest
hurricane was in 1953 and was just a force of 1 (on a scale of 1 to 5).

Palm is quite South. Statistics show that the strike probability ratio is less than 200 to 1 between
Palm Island and St. Marten!
