LAND BIRDS

Plenty birds inhabit or migrate to Palm Island, and the full identification is not actually complete.
The new small island in the middle of Palm is now turned in a bird natural reserve.

The most common are :


DOVES
are mainly ground doves
Two species
(Zenaida Aurita & Auriculata) (Columbina Passerina)
PIGEONS
They migrate to Palm and Union by thousands, from April to October, nesting everywhere in the trees.

BANANAQUITS
or Honey Creeper , black and yellow little bird, which does not hesitate going inside the houses.

MOCKINGBIRD
may be seen everywhere, often on the ground. Grey, with a long tail raising up.
They lift their wings every few steps and look around.

BLACK BIRDS
or Carib Grackle (Quiscalus Lugubris & Molothrus Bonariensis) are more common.
The male is deep black when the female is more grey.
