The flat, hills surrounded aspect of Palm Island suggests that it could be the top of a volcano, whatever it seems obvious that these hills must be attached to Fort Hill in Union.

The center, low and sandy, with plenty non fished conch shells three feet underground shows that it had been invaded by the sea long time ago. A coral barrier had grown all around except the West side which is deeper.
